Cool. Thanks for the expert consultation.

I use the newer Rock Band 2 kit and I feel the included sticks might be too light. I'll try a few different weights out at my local shop and see how that goes. I guess the good news is, drum sticks are a relatively cheap thing to experiment with.

Depends on the rock band kit I guess. I have the original RB kit and find the included sticks work best due to the over all noise of the pads. Drum sticks really are a preference. If you're curious, swing by your local music shop and check a few sizes out. They typically have a ton of stick out so you can try them. When I was playing out with my band Reflescent Tide I was playing Vic Firth SD1 Generals; it a medium-heavy stick with extra length. But now with my vDrums I'm using a lighter stick; Vic Firth Dave Weckl signature sticks - lighter stick. But for rock band... I think the included sticks or a lighter stick (maybe a 5A style) would be good.

Not really a blog-related question here, but one of music, drumming in particular. I am nowhere near being an actual drummer, but I'm having tons of fun playing drums on Rock Band 2. My question is, would you recommend a different, i.e., heavier, weight of drum stick to play the Rock Band/Rock Band 2 kit than what comes with the set? What weight of stick do you use with your electronic kit?
