GamerBar360 in the wild

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I was contacted a few days ago from  a guy named Chris asking if he could include GamerBar360 in a phpBB3 forum mod he was working on.

Thrilled at the idea I gave him the go-ahead.

He contacted me today to let me know that he has it implemented and be seen on the post here. Also the mod developer topic can be found here.

One thing he did ask for in a future version of GamerBar360 is to be able to customize the border color. It just so happens that’s on my list of things do – if I ever get some free time!

Thanks Chris! I hope it works out and people like it!

Auction search watch via RSS

Friday, September 14th, 2007

This is probably old news to most but it’s new to me.

I’ve been on the hunt (read: prowl) for an electric drum kit. I’ve been really itching to play/jam (I used to be in a band – if you’re smart you can find out) as I just don’t have to the space nor the sound proofing to setup my acoustic kit (vintage black oyster swirl Ludwig). I’m not looking to jump back into the music biz but that urge to play is very strong. So I’ve been looking at electric kits; virtually silent, small and compact, make your kit sound like anything you want!

I’m trying to stay within a budget as I’m going to use almost all my freebie gift cards (well half of it, Tracy’s getting some). So I’ve been checking out my main means of acquiring drums; Midwest Percussion. I’ve checked other places as well and came across a Pintech dealer;  HopeDrums.com. (Pintechs utilize Roland’s patented mesh head technology and are MUCH cheaper!).

Anyways… back to the Auction search via RSS.

eBay is obviously blocked at work :( so I was looking for ways to at least keep tabs, so I stumbled across http://www.rssauction.com/ while searching with Winzy. It allows you to retrieve eBay auctions via search criteria and either email it to yourself or grab the RSS link and watch it in your reader. Now this isn’t good for you evil eBay snipers but at least you can watch a few search terms without visiting eBay. Pretty handy.
