The dog decided to lay down on the couch; in my spot.

I stood in front of her, and looked at her sternly and said, “Maisey, you’re in my spot, move.” She looked at me for a bit and didn’t budge. I repeated the previous line one more time. Just a blank stare. Then she completely ignored me and proceeded to “cleanse herself”. I promptly retorted, “DON’T YOU START LICKING YOUR CROTCH WHILE I’M TALKING TO YOU!!”

I wouldn’t recommend using that last line on just anyone…

Maisy Mae Mahyuchawitz (mah-joo-kah-vitz)

Our newest member of the family is a Boston/Boxer mix female. Shes just about 8 weeks old and quite the cutie.

We’ve been thinking about getting a dog for a while now. I’ve been the roadblock because we’d have another “living thing” to care for, look after, clean-up after, etc… All the added responsibility.

In my curiosity, I’ve been prodding Tracy to get on-the-ball to call the lady that knows the breeder to see where they’re at with adoptions and such. We heard that the last batch were Boston/Boxer mixes (don’t ask me how the biological act was preformed ). I was concerned that they’d be big like a boxer. I really only wanted a smaller dog (like a Boston).

Yesterday at work I get a call from Tracy that a neighbor lady can’t keep her puppy she bought from the breeder (the one we were trying to contact) a week earlier since her existing dogs weren’t accepting of the new addition. Tracy ran over, spent some time with the dog, took some pictures and sent them to me. After verifying that she’d stay on the smaller size (30-35lbs) and that she had all her shots (initial ones anyways), I said “let’s do it.”

Tracy ran out and got a kennel for her, some dog food and some toys. Once Maisy was home it was hard trying to tell the kids not to crowd her and shove toys in her face but they settled down after a bit. She’s quite the little cuddle-bug. Tracy and I were watching TV and she sprawled out on Tracy’s lap and latter cuddled up to me and fell fast asleep. At bedtime she whimpered a little (maybe 5min or so) and then went to sleep. She got up this morning around 6am and after going outside, Tracy brought her in bed and she mauled me; licking and nibbling my ear. After bit of romping - she cozied up and conked-out again. She’s sooo soft and has all that loose baby skin. I love that!

I’ll be posting more photos soon; just click her photo above.

[edit: updated spelling of name, again - still tweaking]

[edit: more photos added]
